Between the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification, package holidays to Mallorca became available. And the island, which was previously only known from postcards from the West, became a place of longing, depicted in this touching collage about freedom to travel, a hunger for colour and the desire to simply belong – somehow tragic, sometimes embarrassing and always touchingly funny.
