About

We, SEHquenz e.V. for municipal film work, were founded in 2003 and organize the PROVINZIALE - Filmfest Eberswalde once a year. We now have around 35 members.

In addition to the film festival, we are also responsible for the projects JUGEND-Freiluftkino Eberswalde (Eberswalde Youth Open-Air Cinema) and “FILMKNACK – Youth Film Work between Everyday Life and Film Festival.” In cooperation with other institutions, SEHquenz e.V. also organizes film screenings in the city of Eberswalde.

Work on the PROVINZIALE runs throughout the year. Between February and May, we invite filmmakers from all over the world to submit their productions to us. We are looking for films that respond to our program: spatial reference, resource management, coming, going, staying, and shaping. Landscape, region, or place become visible as players in human life.

In the summer, the program is created after our 15-member program advisory board has viewed and discussed the 550–600 submissions. We receive documentaries, animated films, and short feature films from approximately 60 countries.

PROVINZIALE

The Provinziale is an international film festival that focuses on films related to home, landscape, city, and country—in other words, to the province in the broadest sense.

The festival shows documentaries, short films, and animated films in four competitions and is complemented by an extensive supporting program of music and film discussions.
